Gabriel Ordeig Cole - Design Biographies

Designer? Interior designer? Master of light? Cultural agitator? Artist? Design editor? Gabriel Ordeig Cole (London, 1954 - Barcelona, 1994) was all these things at the same time, occupying a unique and privileged position in the Spanish design scene of the 1980s. The founding of Santa & Cole allowed him to constantly play with binomials: industry and culture, ethics and aesthetics; artisan tradition and productive innovation, achieving an unrepeatable symbiosis.

In 1985, with the founding of Santa & Cole, he entered the design publishing sector, a business model little known at the time, with the stated goal of promoting a material culture unique to the Mediterranean. He is credited with the recovery of objects now considered classics of Spanish design. This book offers a comprehensive overview of his career, both personal and professional.
