Ming's Heart Armchair

Designed by Shi-Chieh Lu, the Ming's Heart Lounge Chair is a contemporary reinterpretation of the iconic Ming chair, fusing the spirituality and fluidity of Eastern tradition with the geometric precision of Western design. Its light and ethereal structure appears to float in space, evoking a conceptual sculpture rather than a simple seat.

The piece is composed of a tubular steel frame with a gunmetal galvanized finish, supporting a continuous sheet steel shell upholstered in Saddle Extra leather, with contrasting stitching and visible seams that enhance its handcrafted character. Its design, based on a fluid, uninterrupted line, transforms the functional elements—backrest, seat, and armrests—into an ultralight expression of form.

More than just an armchair, Ming's Heart is a dialogue between two worlds, an object where tradition and innovation coexist in harmony, resulting in a unique piece of great visual and conceptual impact.
